Argonautica

Early 13th century BCE. Jason, the enterprising Mycenaean pirate from Iolcos, has reached Colchis along with his crew of appropriately dubbed 'Argonauts'.

With the aid of King Aeetes of Colchis' daughter Medea, the great Serpent that guards the fleece has been drugged into slumber and Jason is free to claim what he needs to become king in his own land.

Of course, things don't end well for Jason...not at all. He is at best a foolhardy hero, at worst just a fool.

I tried to make him look more Mycenaean as opposed to classical 'Greek'. The Argo itself, in the border, is a dark age ship as opposed to bronze age, but I think it still looks cool.

I apologize for the small inconsistencies resulting from having to scan this picture in FOUR segments! Hard to line them up perfectly.
